Utilizing Website Marketing Space
or What Can Your 401, 404 etc. Error Pages Do For You
posted by steven j. ram, antroar internet marketing
Does your website have error pages like 401 Unauthorized or 404 Page not Found etc.? Well if you do you have some mighty good marketing space available to you without even trying. It's the same with thankyou pages. When someone signs up for your newsletter or even when someone purchases products or services they'll end up on a thankyou page of some description.
These pages are also your marketing gold pages. I'm not suggesting you hit the visitor with slam bam marketing banners or anything of the like, but what I am saying is that you have a great chance utilizing these pages as teaser snippets for your websites marketing ideas.
Using a small teaser to extol the virtues of a service you have or an extra product that might go with the one that has just recently been purchased can increase your sales dramatically, by accident, on purpose.
Personally speaking, I've increased our free seo report visitors by 5% in the last 2 weeks using this type of internet marketing strategy. I do not hammer the visitor into buying or browsing anything, I just let them know there's more if they want it, in a nice, polite way. As all internet marketing participants should.
Here's a list of current error pages that could be used to add that little extra something to your website marketing experience.
